POWDER ROOM WITH PERSPECTIVE

As part of an entire house remodel including an addition, the powder room was relocated to better utilize the space, optimize function, and delight the senses. The original powder room was incorporated into a new bedroom. The new powder room occupies a portion of space that was the former office. The office entrance was 12” below the hall so part of the modification required raising the floor to be level with the hall. The remaining office space became part of the master suite.

Requirements

  • Maximize function of all square footage with emphasis on high use areas

  • Make a small space feel spacious

  • Create an inviting, dramatic space for guests

  • Solution & Aesthetics

  • Allocated minimal space for a seldom-used powder room

  • Visually expanded the space by applying mirrors on two walls

  • Added texture and color with a blend of glass tiles in a stacked mosaic

  • Zen absolute black granite vessel sink with wall-mounted faucet establish a focal point

  • Calcutta gold marble counter offsets the granite sink

  • Cherry cabinets with ebony stain and flush doors float above the floor

  • Toe kick lighting provides a warm glow

  • Polished chrome knobs reflect the geometric style of the faucet

  • A wall niche with an artistic display reflects in the mirror for a double delight
